@sarahjeong: I meant the process you described at the end, in which we somehow come up with laws that reconcile free speech, hate crime etc
@mathewi the more accepted conception today is the libertarian one (R.A.V., Citizens United) but there’s multiple lenses to use here

@mathewi another thing that I might add is that applying free speech absolutism to the internet is a reinvention of free speech in itself :) -
@sarahjeong: I'm aware of that :-) but to me, that was always one of its best principles -- a tolerance of literally every kind of speech -
