Working theory: Oakland has especially terrible street harassment in part bc of car culture. Wondering if others have had similar experience

@susie_c been harassed by men in cars worse in other places in east bay. I just get harassed on the sidewalk by pedestrians

@sarahjeong I think car culture in general exacerbates the power imbalance, not specific to Oakland

@susie_c @sarahjeong Men on the sidewalks of Oakland tend to actually say hello & make eye contact, more than in SF. But cars = hollering

@tarintowers @susie_c cars also lend to creepier setups. Like dudes trying to get you into their cars
