All I've ever heard of are defamation cases used to bully people
Hey does anyone know of a writeup where a member of a disadvantaged group successfully brought an internet defamation case

@sarahjeong Not a defamation case, but there's a case going up to the Supreme Court about internet threats. Is that interesting to you? -

@bond_alexander Virginia v. Black -- the Court finds it's actually constitutional to ban cross-burnings, just not in the way Virginia did it -
@bond_alexander the logic in that case is interesting to me because i wonder if it could be applied to gendered harassment -
@bond_alexander like i doubt THIS court would do that but it's still an interesting way to think about the 1st Am

@voretaq7@bond_alexander yeah which, when excessive, is unconstitutional -
@sarahjeong@bond_alexander yeah, though the amount of "excess" required is a legal gray area. This one strikes me as a bit much too though. -
