"free speech" is really just disagreement on who should judge what deserves to get deleted or silenced
it's unfortunate that people read "free speech" as "a dude's right to say whatever the fuck he wants"

it's a principle of wide toleration except for *narrow* exceptions at the fringes, exactly because we don't trust each other to decide

in other words, free speech is not a woman's enemy, not a POC's enemy, not a WOC's enemy, not a queer and/or trans person's enemy

free speech is what protects the people at the margins from the people at the top. it belongs to us and we should cherish it.
