There's an urge to create systems to protect "civil rights" in these spaces, but those systems have so far been utterly godawful.

So like an opt-in filter you can turn on when you need it. Not something that removes the user or their tweets.

@sarahjeong Yeah. Adds complexity; can't build once, dev must be ongoing, therefore funding must be ongoing. I think crowdfunding can do it. -
@sarahjeong ...once built, my hunch is the data (on how it's used) would be useful across a couple fields.
