Thought a little bit about the ethics of the Facebook experiment. People keep resorting to talking about TOS and IRB b/c otherwise so murky.
(FB’s own) IRB itself resorted to comparing to FB’s other activities because it couldn’t figure out how to weigh it, otherwise.

I think there’s a straightforward comparison that can be made, though — the FB experiment was gaslighting on a massive scale.
