Something that makes me crazy about the gentrification “debate” is the implicit assumption that civic engagement is the realm of non-techies
And I put “debate” in quote marks because there is no debate. Nothing is being debated, ever. It’s just a cycle of yelling and crying

So many tears for people who, if they simply stay put and do nothing, WILL BE COMPLETELY FINE.

The burden is on the “protesters” (you mean… everyone else? protesting or not?) to hold techie hands and escort them to town hall meetings?

“I will do nothing unless you get your tone right” is just hilariously cruel, when doing nothing = the others will vanish from the city.
