performing tech masculinity (even before the brogrammer era) does involve other-ing women and POC.

the latter is perhaps best clearly seen in the blatant orientalism from earlier hacker scenes.

tech masculinity is now a lot more obvious, because of this whole brogrammer thing.

i worry that brogramming as a trend is really just a red herring— the fixation on that part of tech culture perhaps misses a broader problem
