Shouldn’t be surprised that the people whining “but you’re missing the point, did you really watch it / read it” are missing the point.
Comedy is only good because it’s always possible that it will fail catastrophically.

That’s a reason to *maybe* have some compassion when it does fail, but it’s not a blanket excuse to say anything without repercussions.
