@binarybits court in grokster pointed to how grokster advertised itself. I'll need to check out the site but it doesn't seem obvious to me.

@sarahjeong I don't see how they can argue with a straight face that they're not deliberately promoting infringement.

@binarybits Same thing could have been said about YouTube around the time of Viacom v. Youtube.

@binarybits Don't recall how the front page was organized. If it was by tailored recommendation like it is now, then it would have for some.

@binarybits yeah and if all that is organized by meta data + user statistics --- e.g., blind algorithms? Reminds me of Plex or Roksbox.

@sarahjeong It looks like Plex requires you to decide which friends to share with. That seems different than making piracy the default.
