Popcorn Time: clearly illegal. Also a good illustration of how hopeless the fight against piracy is. HT @TPCarney http://techcrunch.com/2014/03/11/popcorn-time-is-like-netflix-for-pirated-content/ …
@binarybits Don't recall how the front page was organized. If it was by tailored recommendation like it is now, then it would have for some.

@sarahjeong Here's what you see when you launch Popcorn Time.pic.twitter.com/q3G5PI3Dmh

@binarybits yeah and if all that is organized by meta data + user statistics --- e.g., blind algorithms? Reminds me of Plex or Roksbox. -
@sarahjeong It looks like Plex requires you to decide which friends to share with. That seems different than making piracy the default. -
@binarybits Oh, I meant that the interface is blindly organized by metadata on the files. So Plex doesn’t have to “know” I’m watching -
@sarahjeong I'm not sure "blindly" is the right word given that PT chose a default torrent feed that's full of infringing content. -
@binarybits What’s the torrent feed? -
@binarybits INTERESTING. Where on earth did they get their lawyers and why didn’t they stop them from writing this FAQ?

@sarahjeong If the front page of http://YouTube.com looked like that I can't imagine that they would have won.Merci. Twitter en tiendra compte pour améliorer votre fil. SupprimerSupprimer
