@sarahjeong @arissaoh Heh. My grandfather was from N Korea, like legit. My mat grandmother immigrated South but a generation/two before.

@jazzagold @arissaoh my family’s all based out of the South, but I have a Marxist great-aunt who moved north voluntarily :/

@sarahjeong @jazzagold My grandfather went N for a brief trip (he thought) & when he came back my grandma, mom & uncle had fled S.

@sarahjeong @jazzagold Grandma was pregnant when he left, took my toddler mom & newborn uncle w/ her. She was 23, never saw him again.
