@anildash Bitcoin isn’t necessarily anonymous, not sure why that’s the sticking point.

@anildash I think it’s interesting because Microsoft was in talks to make a deal with Digicash in 80s? 90s? and that completely fell apart -

@sarahjeong yeah, but I think this reference was much more of a piece with the recent focus of digital payment for aid, as with US AID. -
@anildash yeah, and m-pesas seem to be filling that niche well? I hear a lot of talk abt BTC being used that way, not much evidence tho. -
@sarahjeong every credible person ice talked to at NGOs and in gov has been positive about mpesa; not even remotely true of btc. -
