Did you know? If you say “gender performativity” everyone will forget you graded 80+ women on whether they were too much like “Samantha”

@sarahjeong I am not trying to pick a fight, because I find his behavior icky, but what is the problem with him going on 80 dates?

@GlennF 1) the ridiculousness of this outcome being labeled as “hacking” OKCupid 2) HE GRADED THEM ON WHETHER OR NOT THEY WERE SLUTTY

@sarahjeong SARAH. I clearly have been working too hard. I did not see the slutty part in the Wired piece.

@GlennF I may be jumping to conclusions on that one, but one of the things he marks women down as is “a Samantha”

@GlennF and, if I give him the benefit of the doubt, I still think the whole thing with grading the women is gross

@GlennF it’s just, you know, not as gross as if he’s not using “Samantha” in the most obvious pop culture way

@GlennF I agree with all this, but my conclusion is that I am incredulous, scornful, and also— Judith Butler? Seriously?

@sarahjeong this is him trying to act like what he did was nothing, like he was faking stereotypical maleness instead of reveling in it.
