I think what I hated the most about the Dr. V story was the exoticization of being trans*. Like it was the capstone of all lies.

I watched Ace Ventura, Pet Detective as an adult (very restrictive childhood) and was appalled by its transphobia.
Had a rough time trying to explain what was so awful about it to my friends who had last seen it as children.

But the same attitude is there. The villain’s “craziness” and “badness” and “murderousness” is capped off with a trans* identity.

It’s a sick and dehumanizing attitude already, but think about how incredibly wrong this is: you are a liar for not identifying as trans*.

I don’t have to go around telling my business associates, my sexual partners, that I’m cis.

Our social understanding of trans* people / our persecution of them turns their very being into a “lie”.
