Writing a race joke in a way that plays *with* but doesn’t play *to* tropes is a sign of true skill and fools don’t have it.
My favorite episode of 30 Rock does this—the one where Liz dates with a black man she is completely incompatible with / is a racist

I also enjoyed the episode where Liz thinks Tracy can’t read (because she’s a racist) and he uses it to exploit her.
