It's easy to bewail "in-fighting." Or "identity politics."
So, in the last three days, my life has been consumed with some Classic Flavor leftist in-fighting.

But here's the rub: if in-fighting is so destructive, why don't you just do whatever it is the "sectarians" want to do?

Oh, that's right, because you think they're wrong and that you get to talk over people in the name of unity.

People don't participate in identity politics because they are frivolous or over-emotional. Identity politics matter.

Now, do I wish people would stop yelling at me and that this stress knot in my neck would go away? Yesss.

But I won't tell ppl to stop caring, just bc it makes me uncomfortable, makes me look bad, or doesn't concord w what I think leftism shd be.

Exception: don't stalk people or threaten people with bodily harm over identity politics, that's awful and you're awful if you do that
