@vogon the way it's phrased it seems like the bitcoin are simply gone, since they also mention the BTC the government themselves used -
@vogon it just seems like a weird way to say "The government has our bitcoin." Which I think is the only possibility! -
@sarahjeong well, the owner can destroy the private keys forever, in which case nobody'll ever be able to spend them again
