Even with the appreciated caveats in @mathewi's recent piece, I am struck by the lack of acknowledgement that Pax's sexism is silencing.

@mathewi Yes. I just think it's the same problem in two different ways: the exercise of protectable speech w the effect of decreasing speech

@sarahjeong: I totally agree -- it is a very difficult problem, which is why I wanted to write about it, even though I find him pathetic
