mostly now I just mute the TV until I figure out what I want but I can't even read the description on something without Netflix going "oh you've been on this for .2 seconds? so you want to watch it? okay we'll play it for u"

This is apparently my week for complaining about the UI on streaming sites and that maybe makes it seem like all I do is watch Hulu and Netflix all day, but I'm unemployed and depressed so YEAH what do you THINK I'm doinghttps://twitter.com/sarahhollowell/status/1222315595368144897?s=20 …

this is somehow even WORSE than there being no way to turn it off at all. they have to know I'll never turn off episode autoplay. how else am I supposed to fall into a fugue state while episodes of Criminal Minds just keep playing and playing.https://twitter.com/TrappyJenkins/status/1222630427099156480?s=20 …

There is actually a way to do that! By turning off auto play of the next episode of whatever your watching. I dont know why those two things are linked, but thats the choice you have.

But episode autoplay is one of the true GIFTS of this terrible world that's monstrous

It is so annoying. If we're sitting and talking about what we're going to watch for any length of time, I have to go into a menu or something.
-
Yes! You can't browse without a trailer starting and you can't even just GO LOOK AT THE PAGE and read the summary without them literally starting the movie for you. Like?? Y'all?? I read fast and it still starts too fast for me!
