...but there is also something confusing about humans navigating only decaying incipient-garbage that can't even be ceremonially refreshed.

@sclopit what are clothes for except signaling? same with hairstyles, cars, etc. - richer signaling possible with more maintenance rituals
@sclopit I suppose it's up to individuals, but if anything we seem to have a shortage of maintenance rituals compared to other times
@sclopit oh yeah I have no desire to black-lead any stoves - but I'm seeing fewer good new rituals than I'd like I guess
@sclopit there is a dutch study (have no link) that confirms that less road signaling created less accidents
@sclopit it applies to your example: the dutch found out that less signaling made people act more carefully, i.e. better interviews work
