Screw the problem of induction. We have a problem of deduction. If deduction were false, how would we notice?

That is, if physics is bad at teaching brains to be sane, is it possible to know? To help bootstrap the process?

The boring way is to play one bit of the brain off against another. Luckily the brain is complex, not unitary.

But this ignores the role of consciousness. Logical fallacy feels different from logical rigour. Or they would be identical thoughts.

That is, consciousness can inherently tell the difference. It's impossible to implement conscious existence without getting logic for free.

But am I using tollens here or merely begging the question?

Meta: that was a lot of work to merely move the question. However, I've done this before, eventually we hit a wall and thus confrontation.

I am indeed begging the question. -does- consciousness obey deductive logic? Is modus tollens in fact a valid technique?

If consciousness can inject information to itself, then it can self-observe, thus see logic, thus conclude logic & do tollens on existence.

It seems memory is a thing brains grant to consciousness. With memory, consciousness can self-observe.

@sarahdoingthing Pragmatically. Some past memories can be checked against the present. Tells us about the method ∴ about uncheckable ones.0 replies 0 retweets 0 likesThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
