Can't put the cat barn too far from the yeti cave or the cats get depressed; too close, though, and people visiting the cats annoy the yeti.

Every design problem, at every level of abstraction, has a Goldilocks sweet spot. Most of the possible space is outside the sweet spot.

All the design problems overlap, a lot of them feed back into each other, and most of them are completely invisible.

So expect a lot of the sweet spots for individual problems to be incompatible with the sweet spots of other, connected problems.
