Whew, yeah. I'm definitely thinking about this, and attempting to lay the groundwork for a non-trauma-dependent culture through lived, iterated practice and research.

And what I've got to offer right now is... being in a transition culture is uncomfortable, disorienting, and just really fucking hard.

I can intellectually theorize about what the stable post-trauma-dependent culture would be like, and I've had glimpses of lived experience, and... yeah. Feels a bit like being a mid-20th-cent thinker trying to make predictions about the information age.

Some folks of that era were very prescient (eg Vannevar Bush, Marshall McLuhan) and many, many more were tremendously far off the mark. Really difficult to tell in advance which way my predictions might go!

Hmm, wanting to clarify my earlier tweet -- not so much working towards "the stable" post-trauma-dependent culture, but more like -- a resilient cultural platform upon which many different cultures could be built. Like an open-source OS that can run many different programs.

And a branch of that thread with a diagram about transition cultures & overlapping spaces -- "muddle puddle" or "learning context":https://twitter.com/SarahAMcManus/status/1143961914315354112 …

Sarah McManus @SarahAMcManusOdgovor korisnicima @SarahAMcManus @mattgoldenbergIndeed! I did forget a key part of the model. The overlap of the two systems can be either a "muddle puddle" (confusing, without a community / container to guide sense-making) or a learning context, if there is scaffolding and support for navigating that liminal space. pic.twitter.com/Ht1kkLHWhc1 reply 0 proslijeđenih tweetova 3 korisnika označavaju da im se sviđa
