Four years ago today marks the loss of this global citizen and UN leader. Thank you 🙏 for the enduring legacy and commitment to equality and peace. Critical now more than ever.

Today the world has lost a gentle giant of the UN, a truly global citizen who taught us all so much about leadership through grace, quiet integrity and an unwavering commitment to equality, peace and justice. Kofi’s tenacious optimism for change will be deeply, deeply missed. twitter.com/TheElders/stat…

Any American who says, "I'm not a woman, this doesn't affect me," "I'm not Black, that doesn't affect me," "I'm not gay, that doesn't affect me"... Once you allow this kind of extreme power to take hold, you have no idea who they will come for next.

Educating girls is one of the most powerful equalizers on the road to gender equality. This rapid curtailment of Afghan women and girls’ fundamental rights and freedoms is deeply concerning. Global demand is paramount to call for immediate return of all Afghan girls to schools.

The right to education is a human right. @UN_Women calls on the de facto authorities in #Afghanistan to reopen schools for all girls above 6th grade. Educating girls is one of the biggest leaps we can make on the road to sustainable development.
