On I have been living with cancer for 1657 days. My life has changed forever - for good and for bad. All I want is for everyone to check themselves regularly so if god forbid you do get cancer it’s picked up early.

Huge loss to Oxford and to the immuno-oncology field. Desperately sad news.

It takes an average of 12 years to get a new cancer drug from the test tube to the patient. We need to overhaul the way we run clinical trials to minimise delays. Here are some suggestions...

What's it like to be a geneticist? A thread, based on stock photos sampled from the internet. We begin with an image of a state-of-the-art genetics lab in action. Notice all the flasks & tubing filled with blue liquid, & the smart matching attire of these everyday researchers.1/n

Important point. Cancer patients with a history of Hepatitis/HIV are precluded from most clinical trials of new cancer agents for no real reason.

Got some sad news today. After 7 years of medical training, my good friend has been struck off after 1 minor indiscretion. He slept with 1 of his patients & now can no longer work in the job he loves. What a waste of time, training&money. A genuinely nice guy, and a brilliant vet

I dreamt last night that cancer was cured and we had an annual Cancer Remembrance Day to look back and remember all those who had died from this horrid and pointless disease .
