We looked into "tip baiting" -- a gross tactic some people are using to entice Instacart workers to pick up their orders with big tips but then taking it away after the delivery is made: https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/09/tech/instacart-shoppers-tip-baiting/index.html … w/ @kyurieff

That's terrible I always tip people making deliveries well during this crisis if it saves me from making a trip outside the home.

@Instacart you should allow folks to ADD to their tip but never, NEVER allow them to remove a tip!! LITERALLY not a thing in any other business or exchange! -

The drivers know where the tip-baiters live.

I thanked my shopper and increased her tip. I recognize that my shopper is risking their life so I can eat.

Seems like an adjustment made at their own peril. The shopper knows where they live.

As a part time pizza delivery driver, I am often comforted that we live in such a civilized society that people think nothing of calling me, a stranger, out to their house in the middle of nowhere, giving me a chance to see their entry points, being rude and stiffing me.

Too bad that customer can't be blocked from ordering again. Let them go to the store themselves if they think it's that easy. Go find their own damn TP!

Name and shame. Also, depending on the state, it might be some form of wage theft.
-
It’s very unrealistic to expect Instacart workers to publicly name the users who are doing this. Pressure the company to stop allowing it, not the workers who are being screwed by it.
