Ah nice to see ideas from http://LessWrong.com  filtering into the popular discourse. Although the most sensational ones. @sapinker I think you'd get a lot more from the concept of Tabooing Your Words; it's an approach to communication I use every day.https://www.lesswrong.com/posts/WBdvyyHLdxZSAMmoz/taboo-your-words …

This is a great reminder that even very high-functioning autism sufferers face enormously difficult obstacles in their daily lives--in this case, obsessive nonsensical thoughts that normal people have no trouble dismissing as gibberish

That was brilliantly snarky. This is coming from a person who is highly sympathetic to @ESYudkowsky and @_nickbostrom. Many thanks to @sapinker for keeping me partially grounded to rationality regarding this topic.

Someone somewhere on the Internet put it in the best possible way: "Eliezer Yudkowsky, an intellectual equivalent of Harlem Globetrotters." "Yudkowsky said that Roko had already given nightmares to several LessWrong users and had brought them to the point of breakdown." LOL!

Haphazardly spreading infohazards isn't a great idea. You can really ruin someones mind if they are vulnerable to such memes.

Is AGI 1) incoherent, 2) unobtainable, 3) not realistic in timeframe of decades? You pooh-pooh it using all three, which aren't compatible and not very intellectually honest.

The fault lies in thinking the human spirit is apart fm the rest of the natural world. It’s not ! The thought exercise falls apart - the last shall be first.
