I applaud the motive - to objectively seek the best ecological solution. But it’s too black and white - and organic can be part of the solution: https://scholar.google.co.uk/scholar?q=reganold+organic+agriculture&hl=en&as_sdt=0&as_vis=1&oi=scholart&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiT1PqGzufaAhVDL8AKHUQSBwIQgQMIJTAA#d=gs_qabs&p=&u=%23p%3DXQywsi41JqcJ …

Exactly! There's a lot to be learned from all farming systems and we need to bring the best of these systems together. The extremes are never helpful.

Just because science is used to develop GMOs doesn't mean all scientists have to fall over themselves to preach the gospel of GMOs. We demand cheap and easy and our children will pay the price. Glyphosate is not healthy, factory farming cannot be the answer.

One of Roundup's inert ingredients, polyethoxylated tallowamine, or POEA, was more deadly to human embryonic, placental and umbilical cord cells than the herbicide itself.https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/weed-whacking-herbicide-p/ …

Read the actual study. The dose makes the poison, and in this case, the dose was far higher than the recommended amount. Additionally, the application of the herbicide is different than intended through actual use. Misleading headline meant to generate clicks.

Are you paid by Monsanto to mislead? Or do you do that pro bono? From the article: "In the French study, researchers tested four different Roundup formulations, all containing POEA and glyphosate at concentrations below the recommended lawn and agricultural dose."

Seralini. Guy has an anti-GMO agenda. Full stop. Second, the study design was awful. Not like the exposure you'd see in the natural world. Nice use of the shill gambit. Next time READ THE STUDY instead of quoting the article while conveniently leaving out the counter arguments.

Now the entire study is flawed? Without evidence? And what's 'exposure in the natural world'? As opposed to the inside of a bottle of Roundup? I mean that's just stupid. You speak of counter arguments, but you clearly have none. Stop grasping and accept the science.

Stop pretending that you know how science works, when you clearly don’t. Some studies are garbage. This is one of those studies.

If the effects were as bad as the study proposes, they would be replicated by a lab who isn’t led by an anti-GMO ideologue. Find me some credible evidence not from the Wakefield of GMOs. Go ahead, I’ll wait.

Then how do we make it sustainable? We can't keep producing food that kills us. There is always a way/solution. When someone says something can't be done, I immediately think lobbyist or money is driving them to make the comment. What chance do we have if our food kills us?

Read the article I posted/wrote and you’ll have your answer :) The answer isn’t organic, it’s a combination of new technologies with a focus on more ecologically sound agricultural practices. The key is to combine biotech innovations and ecological knowledge.

Red meat is one of the best choices -- even grain finished spends most of its time on pasture. As well as increasing red meat consumption and production, should de-intensify, disperse pork & chicken prodn as they eat what we don't cld integrate wasted food stream.

The best way to eat, if you have the option, is to go plant based. It is by far the best way to reduce environmental destruction and decrease your footprint. Raising animals for food is a the most wasteful, destructive practice that can be easily changed just by choosing plants.pic.twitter.com/vFjXWyYn2I

If I understood a recent paper in PNAS correctly, the US cannot grow enough walnut and other nuts and beans to supply the micro nutrients needed for its population if they all switched to vegetarian food.
