America is doing better than you think. 2 distorters of the common view: 1. The optimism gap: People say their own lives & communities are fine, but the nation sucks. 2. National politics is theater; local politics is where things get done. @JamesFallows.https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2018/05/reinventing-america/556856/?utm_source=twb …

a better version of its narcisstic sociopathy?...where capitalism in its current form is a cancer on humanity n democracy ripping the intrinsic value from everything in order to serve the pathologies and addiction of a few at the top...that is 1 thing that actually trickles down

“Things are going great, the trajectory is greater still,” said the optimist with a scowl on his face. “If things are getting better, then why the scowl,” asked the objective bystander. “Quite simple really,” mumbled the optimist, “My optimism is totally without foundation.”

LoL Pinker thinks Americans are imagining that incomes have stagnated & life expectancy is outright dropping. Pinker doesn't like statistics

I'd also like to share a book with you entitled 23 Minutes in Hell by Bill Wiese. He describes in great detail his experiences in hell & how completely & thoroughly horrible this real place is. Currently located near the center of our earth's core...Read this book.Jesus loves you

..share Jesus with you. He died for your sins and mine. He is the only Way to eternal life and loves you greatly. The alternative is hell...A place of eternal (Forever) torment, horror, fire and not a second of peace...This is where people go who deny Jesus in this lifetime.

More to the point: Americans don't realize how quickly the country is becoming several different countries, largely due to the natural racialization of culture and politics.

A serious problem for baby boomers (I'm a charter member) is we were never trained in Socratic debate. Even those of us who managed by whatever means to come by some critical thinking skills still cannot debate effectively. I know I can't. I hope that changes.

Reality bubbles. You're familiar with Mieville's The City And The City? Add a few more "and the city"s to the title, for realism. How would you assess the condition of a city for *all* its residents?

How to explain then the drop in American life expectancy that took place in the last 10 years? Shorter life is usually a consequence of a war or famine.
