Why should we tighten gun control laws when gun deaths have been declining since the 90s while gun ownership has also been increasing?

That's the question of the century. Shall we call it "shooting yourself in the foot"?

"Ban semi-automatic weapons that fire high-velocity rounds" this means most hunting rifles and pistols. "Close gun show and secondhand sales loopholes" liscensed gun sellers are required to do background checks at gun shows. These are political talking points.
-
Well, not most pistols. "High velocity" isn't an extremely well-defined term, but it's reasonable to assume it means 2000 fps+. Nearly all rifle cartridges achieve that, but with rare exceptions like the FN 5.7, no handgun cartridges do.
-
Of course it wouldn't actually do any good to ban high high velocity semi-automatics. Low velocity semi-automatics are just as effective at moderate ranges. It would just inconvenience those who actually need high velocity semi-automatics, like varmint hunters.

Gun violence is way down. Steven Pinker should be out front in this. He is Soy Boy Enlightenment.

Why should the government be the only ones who are armed? What could possibly go wrong there?

First change Congress. Vote them out of office & get rid of the corrupt “lobbyists” too.

We should not be afraid to amend the 2nd amendment
-
Even if there is a shortage of political will and courage to alter the second amendment, it isn’t absolute. Good gun control laws could be enacted with the amendment as it stands.
-
Absolutely true, but at the mercy of a Supreme Court of unknown decency. Let’s remove all doubt.

These school shootings are rigged by anti gun entities. I bet since Soros paid 1/4 billion to organize the march I would t doubt his blood money is buying the shooters as well. If a person believes in the agenda strapping c4 or shooting up a school is worth his life.

Yes! Because gun free UK is much better than an armed nation like the US,Canada or Switzerland.
