Really? Because Australia banned guns after their last one and they haven’t had anymore. It’s been several years.

Couple of decades, actually. 13 mass shootings from 1979 to 1996; none since 1996. Making it difficult (far from impossible!) to get guns in general, and guns strongly resembling military hardware in particular, seems to have had an immediate and lasting impact.

I was at McGill in 1989. We both know what happened at Ecole Polytechnique and we both know the response by the public and government. Canada is not perfect by any means but 1 mass shooting compared to 327 suggests we’re on the right track.

Don't we owe our most horrified response to the most horrific number of deaths? We aren't truly accounting for death if mass shootings outweigh suicides and gang violence. Oddly, we see this in disease management as well. Is this a media-driven bias?

Seems to me mass shootings are a trendy thing, like eating goldfish or streaking. In time it'll become passe. That'll be nice.

Nope, people just resorted to witch trials, street executions and slavery instead.

Let’s not forget the @NRA (and its shills) are masters of lying with statistics. Cherry-picking trends, selecting non-representative scenarios, ignoring analysis of variance... But even #NRA can’t refute sound science, raw math, and common sense. Way on the wrong side of history.pic.twitter.com/uWdzYr4xOt
