Enjoyed your discussion with Christopher Lydon. It was like the two hemispheres of the brain talking to each other: SP (Left Side): Empirically everything is getting better. CL (Right Side): If that’s true, why do I feel so bad?

Enlightenment Now is the most uplifting and hopeful book I've read since The Better Angels of Our Nature! So refreshing when so much of the news/entertainment is pessimism porn.

Congratulations, and I'm learning a great deal from your book (1/3 through it), but I find it sad that a semi-fictional book on the Trump White House, and a picture book on Obama, are both currently outselling your landmark work, which obviously will be read a century hence!

I tried factory farmed cucumber for lunch thinking of your criticism, and Steward Brand’s, of Greenies being mystical purists. The cuke cut nicely but smelled of chemicals, and, sad to say, it was tasteless. Science prevails again, producing, with Reason, food that is tasteless.
