No one has refused to debate Amy Wax at Penn Law. Indeed, she has ignored all substantive responses, including by her colleagues (of whom I am one). See links at https://twitter.com/gelbach/status/964722862035742721 ….

This tweet perpetuates a lie. Amy Wax's colleagues have repeatedly "discuss[ed] the issues." Here are links to three responses: 1. http://www.thedp.com/article/2017/08/guest-column-bourgeois-bad-history … 2. https://heterodoxacademy.org/i-dont-care-if-amy-wax-is-politically-incorrect-i-do-care-that-shes-empirically-incorrect/ … 3. https://heterodoxacademy.org/jonah-gelbach-responds-to-wax-and-haidt/ … (by me) To my knowledge she has never responded on the merits.

She addresses the issue of her discussion on 50s culture by saying that she completely agrees that both race & gender attitudes were problematic but that these failings don't necessarily mean thre is nothing to be learnt from these eras.

Poor Amy Wax, her views have been completely supressed - except for everywhere from her own blog to the WSJ. How is anybody ever going to find out what she thinks about anything? https://tinyurl.com/y8yr2t8c

I think referring to her as "Poor Amy Wax" misses the point entirely. She is standing up for herself and her values, not running to hide behind the first assistant vice dean and begging him / her to do her bidding.

Professor Pinker: After I pointed out that it's not true that Wax's colleagues wouldn't debate the issues, the WSJ (partially) corrected the record, updating her op-ed online. https://twitter.com/garyrosenWSJ/status/965066922399330305 … If you want a fair discussion on the merits, you, too, will correct the record.

Weird. I'm a minority and I've never been hated by conservatives. Now I do have an issue with people not getting in line and waiting their turn like many others. Instead they decide to skip and cheat. Next time you're in line and someone cuts in front, let me know how it feels.

If it's a straw short of everything, then this article can go to hell. How did folks get so weak that they cannot muster the courage to speak authentically on touchy subjects. Cowards crawl.
