Just read the Moral Instinct. Good read. I’ve followed @RFupdates for years now, and do not think he’s the kind to be purposefully misleading. The quote(question) from your paper was exactly the question he was trying to get an answer to from @platobooktour.

Could be wrong, but my guess is he was just trying to get that question across in a more effective/provocative way. Not trying to appeal to your authority, as if you endorsed his answer to the question.

If morality’s not a figment the pursuit of the question of the objective truth of any statement based on morality would be pointless since it would only question the validity of the connection between the statement and morality. More fun if it’s a figment.
