Enlightenment Now explains why we are NOT in a “post-truth era” (and why journalists should retire this corrosive new cliche).

Yes, because just after any society enters a "post-truth" era it quickly enters, I do suspect, the "we ain't around anymore" era.

Pull your head out of your ass pinker. With the dominant political party in this country(GOP) not having a single representative believe in climate change, a scientific fact, and 10's of millions of their voters eating up the same garbage, we can definitely say we are in the era

Disagree. "Post-truth, pure optics" describes all media today, and to win at this game you can be nothing short of religious on this principle. Nancy Pelosi's face fart *is* more important than "truth." The truth amounts to "we're hosed;" this helps us retreat into optics.

Unfounded optimism. Science itself is not just post-truth - it is post-sanity. See this: (12:02) "The speed of light is so constant that the Universe actually changes everything so that you would never see it going any other speed."https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHmYcrVg0Fs …

We live in more of a “trust era” which requires you only to persuade others toward your POV. People tend to take facts as opinions now and it’s shattered our ability to communicate.

Does that mean we are entering a "post-'post-truth era'" and journalists should start using this soothing balm like new cliche? I feel better now.

I've also liked to think of "this era", not as "post-truth", but as "pre-truth". I'd like to think that, if we don't have the truth, that we'll do our best to find it.
