I don't know why anyone would think that the difference matters in the first place. Both are completely unprofessional. They wouldn't even be appropriate in a regular workplace let alone the most important individual workplace in the land

Western countries have been calling these countries Third World for ages and no blinked an eye and now suddenly you care.

The problem isn't just the language, the fact is he doesn't want THOSE people coming to OUR country. At best, it's xenophobic with merely circumstantial racist underpinnings.

As you know, it is not his sole decision. Also, would you want just anyone come to your house? Moreover, not everyone coming from the countries he referred to as SH are the best immigrants. Why should a country/society be burdened with unproductive people if you can choose?

It's not my house, it's my country. That distinction matters. One of the founding principles of this country is diversity and I want to see a diverse group of immigrants.

Yeah yeah...it is not my house, it is my country. It means I will try to be virtuous as long as I personally don't have to take any responsibility. Classic BS.

Do you think that immigration to America is going to increase the overall suffering in the world ?

Of course it doesn’t matter. Nor does it matter where people are from. All that matters is the content of their character.

Either word makes a difference if what he meant was reversing or reducing the exploitation of the visa system of the USA. Suspect the application of business principles to immigration, is what he was getting at. Something which was missed by some at meeting.

Choice of words typically terrible, but would any of us move our families to any of those countries? Aren’t people trying to escape those countries _because_ they are terrible places (by whatever name)?
