Like NYT’s Brett Stephens, I’m proud to be a grandchild of an immigrant from a s**thole, Moldova. (Krasnystaw, the ancestral Pinker homeland, was no Norway either.)https://nyti.ms/2FzFArB

Appreciate your sentiment, but surely, you can't be missing the point. It is not being poor that makes a country a shithole; it is having black people.

Solidarity, brother Pinker! I think my grandfather's shtetl of Lipcan (sic?) would now be located in Moldova. It was Romanian at the time he fled.

That's nice for them, but that doesn't change the fact that they are shitholes, the very fact they left 'for a better life' is confirmation. Terrible logic Mr P.

as you repeatedly remind us, every country was a shithole at the time.

You folks appear to believe that historically, immigrants were poor people from poor countries. Wrong on both points. See International Migration in the Long-Run: Positive Selection, Negative Selection and Policy by Timothy J. Hatton, Jeffrey G. Williamson.

Back before it was politically incorrect... Immigrant success by nationality, ethnicity, religion was widely studied. Of course, there were substantial differences. Even back then it was widely known that Jewish immigrants were uniquely successful. See Borjas and Cheswick.

When most of our ancestors left their home countries they did so because their countries were shitholes. Countries != people.

Immigrants are cancer in the western civilization. Not a surprise that jews keep pushing for the destruction Europeans relevance in their own countries.
