Have Enlightenment Now pre ordered. Have a feeling it is more intellectually relevant to US and world governance than Fire and Fury. If Trump could only go on a campaign against Enlightenment Now. Liberal democratic fantasy

Not for Americans, certainly, nor Brits nor Germans nor Russians nor Japanese, nor surely Syrians or North Koreans, etc, but for statistical abstractions, it's been great.

It's irrelevant to me if in Africa they saved children if my city is ruined by immigration. Human a biologically evolved to care about close people, not the world. What the left does is trying to create a pathologically altruistic, self-destructive, global narrative.

If we decide to navigate our lives based on our evolved traits, we are certain to increase suffering both locally and globally. Resorting to tribalism in reaction to local immigration problems, which occur due to lack of opportunities globally, diminishes the good for you too.

I wasn't talking about actions, actually, the pathological altruists are the ones stupidly following their emotions. I was talking about the relevance of far global events in people personal lives, which is none. Also, your analysis of immigration is also completely wrong.

This is delusional. US has the worst president it has had, the population is divided, nationalism is growing, as is the number of and influence of authoritarian governments. Many conflicts are now fought online. Global number of refugees is the highest is has ever been.

Studies like this tend to overlook that number of democracies has been shrinking in the last decade (see Freedom House data). Civil liberties seldom a metric. Should we celebrate global decline in poverty if it occurs at the same time as a global clamp down on civil liberties?
