That's not what I'm seeing. Until we get rid of privately-owned, proprietary black-box voting machines and super delegates, there won't be a democracy.

At least they put the word "free" in quotes. That's says it all. We don't live in a democracy. Steven, you know that. I agree with your atheist views, but it's sounds like you're a shill for the "democratic" establishment.

The system we're living in now is better than any system that's existed in the past. And name one primary where superdelegates have thrown an election to a loser of the popular vote. I'll wait.

Not better than the FDR years. We're witnessing wholesale theft of the US. And SD's, maybe, don't know. I do know SDs' purpose is to tilt the tables to favor establishment candidate and suppress grassroots candidates. That's not democracy.

If you confuse “democracy” with “holding elections”, yes. If, as in the US, the electable to highest office are limited to a very small group supported by multimillionaires, I call it plutocracy, not democracy

The Wall Street Journal editorial board is certainly trying to kill our democracy by undermining the rule of law in America. Why can’t the partisans on
@wsj put their country over their party? Glad I stopped my subscription as soon as Murdoch bought the paper.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Abrupt changes in social/political systems is not unprecedented. Extrapolating trends about human (vs natural) systems is error prone.

Democracy is far from dead, and this is a fact, but we must acknowledge its fragility and watch over its actual survival in contemporary society against the threats of religious fanaticism and economic corporatism.

Who says democracy is "dead"? This is a straw argument. Need to have a more nuanced scale of political systems esp distinguish full and flawed democracy. US been rated flawed, which would skew the figures a bit.https://www.cnbc.com/2017/01/25/us-is-no-longer-a-full-democracy-eiu-warns.html …

The “death of democracy” stories usually relate to long established democracies which appear to be in trouble.

Or climate alarmists who overinterpret every warm day, every storm, and every starving animal. That logic works the other way around too.
