An amazing story of poise, dignity, and wisdom. I strive to be more like Ms. Murray and have the strength that it takes to turn the other cheek and be the bigger person in any hateful situation. She is inspirational. Give this a read #digiPRosF17! Thank you for sharing @sapinker.

In '30s London, ordinary people stopped Fascists marching through Jewish areas, denying their "right" to assembly. Wallace had enough platform to spout his hate without Yale. His ideas led directly to firebombing black churches. Free speech to organise oppression?
-
None of those platforms involved an academic setting in which intellectuals could publicly challenge his ideas with a live audience. Few can moderate or carry out debates in a better setting than a university. His ideas being on campus were the least likely source of firebombing.

Blindly defending free speech is a short sighted as dismissing it in order to safeguard oneself against any other opinion. A line needs to be drawn if free speech endangers lives or the very existence of free speech itself. Otherwise it is without value.
-
I would say free speech is not equal to threaths or when puttning ppl's life on the line. But preventing free speech to preserve free speech seems like a contradiction...either you have free speech, or you do not...
