For all the criticism the MSM gets (and sometimes deserves), we must remember its commitment to accuracy. Exemplary account of how WaPo resisted right-wing bait w assiduous fact-checking. http://www.bostonglobe.com/news/nation/2017/11/27/woman-approached-the-washington-post-with-dramatic-and-false-tale-about-roy-moore/tEcVZhV7uViIrfRIXyq7hP/story.html?event=event25 … via @BostonGlobe

Commitment to accuracy? Because they did their job? The inaccuracies and bias exposed over the last 18 months is astounding.

These RWNJs think WaPo would be easy prey for such a sting because they actually believe their "fake news" propaganda. Don't get high on your own supply.

Why must we remember this when there are all kinds of counterexamples?. Do they get some kind of special prize for being accurate sometimes?

@washingtonpost has done outstanding work in the past couple years. By far the best newspaper of the Trump era.

Decades of right-wing smear tactics, culminated by a Trump presidency, has convinced 40% of the population to regard any news they don't like as "false," while they flock to clearly propagandist sources. Complete lack of understanding of the rigors of real journalism.

Because @washingtonpost and @nytimes have these things called editorial boards, editors, and lawyers who vet things before printing them. It’s called journalism.

You point to one act of responsible journalism by a rabidly partisan paper to praise them as non-biased. That’s a good little liberal.

I think the problem with MSM is the slashed research budgets/personnel. The old structure of a newsroom with layers of fact checking has been diluted - much like the mix of viewership has been divided up by ideology.
