Why is the New York Times taking astrology seriously, instead of noting that it is unmitigated nonsense?https://nyti.ms/2jXvB96

Why? Because philosophers like Kant and Hegel attack the efficacy of reason and have passed their views to the universities. Superstition is all that’s left when you toss out reason.

Somehow I think we can do without a warmed-over Ayn Randian attack on Kant, thank you very much omnishambles. (Unlike Rand I have a PhD in philosophy, in case you’re wondering.) Kant and Hegel are hardly responsible for the Times’s taking astrology seriously.

So, when dominant philosophies are based on mysticism you don’t think it makes sense to see more mysticism in the culture?

I was going to defend the NYT on the grounds that self-deception is occasionally harmless and useful for meeting our psychological needs, but after reading the article now I can't. It's clearly them just cashing in their credibility for a quick buck.
