Our American diet has led us to obesity, disease, and death at an alarming rate. This article is irresponsible.
-
Obesity is caused by overconsumption of sugar. That's what we should be cutting back

Yeah, just keep binging on sugar and carbs! That will surely increase your life span and health

-
Which is... exactly not what the article says. Other than that, though, a withering diss on your part.

Wrong message when 1/3 US adults is obese and heart disease kills 1/4. We are eating far too much processed food and sugar.
-
You’re not eating too much processed food. You’re just eating too much.

We do need to eat 'clean' (moderately, selectively), though clean eating is the opposite of what science taught us for decades.

Of course, we shouldn't over-demonize certain foods. It's bad science. But good science isn't "eat what you want". Give me a break.

Love it! People demonize foods rather than concentrating on keeping calories in check and eating fruit/veg enough to get proper nutrients.
-
A lot of research says that caloric counts don’t matter — its the type of calories you consume
-
I could see that I suppose, but if you’re taking in less calories than you expend it would be impossible to not lose weight.

So once again, a balanced diet is the way to go. Funny how we've always reverted back to that age-old wisdom time and time again.
-
Disagree completely.. a whole foods vegan diet (veg, fruit, little seeds, nuts, b12) is optimal for human health..unless you like impotence
-
You just disagreed with a 'balanced' diet. Your idea of 'clean eating' is what gets our dietary health off the track.

"Most Americans, at least according to this poll, don’t seem to care what scientists think."
