Not gonna happen. Ever. And it’s a waste of time talking about it. Need to focus on doable solutions, not fantasies.
-
Oh, it will definitely happen.
-
Not without Civil War II. Americans own 300 mln firearms. Many won’t surrender them. Plus Constitutional amendments are nearly impossible.
-
No, they're not. That's why, to quote a famous Aussie comedian, "it's called an amendment"!

Why is it intellectuals want to ban objects when we've seen how ineffective and corrupting it is? (Prohibition)
-
Laws are intended to regulate BEHAVIOR of people, not restrict OBJECTS from existing. Any law that tries this is a fundamental corruption.
-
But even worse, is the short-term memory that knows that mass shootings weren't a problem 30 years ago, but thinks that guns are the problem
-
So clearly CULTURE has changed, but intellectuals want a 200 year old law to change to accomodate a temporary cultural problem.
-
These facts reveal most gun control for what it is, lazy intellectualism fueled by emotion rather than critical thought.

At the very least, rewrite to reflect modern-day. I'm sure the founding fathers never imagined assault rifles being used to kill 1000s a yrpic.twitter.com/uC9Be980IY
-
To be clear assault rifles already are illegal. AR 15’s are Armalite 15’s and are semi automatic not automatic. Big difference
-
True but it doesn't take much to change one to automatic, & though not built to withstand it, if you're on a suicide murder mission, works.

I'm a bit surprised you're suggesting the USA usher in totalitarianism. http://www.hawaii.edu/powerkills and Milgram are right. As is John Ross.
-
BS. Most modern countries are without anything as barbaric as the 2nd amendment. Non of them are totalitarian. Countries with guns are.

Should USA get rid of all its nukes too?
-
All nations should get rid their nukes. Eventually, we will.
