Narrative is now about a poor beleaguered googler and not if women are systematically excluded from tech jobs. The revenge of the nerds?
-
Others view the situation quite differently. To many, it's about assessing reality accurately. You can't be fair if you can't be realistic.
-
Insert bromide here?
-
Yes. Reality can be quite boring. But delusions and fantasies are not adequate substitutes.

So next, are you gonna assert that poor and rich people are biologically determined to have low/high social status?
-
Pinker only focuses of biological inferiority of women - he lets his pal Razib Khan focus on non-white inferiority.

Many points unjustifiedly dismissed (selection biais),what are the controls on this pren androgen thing? Not convinced.
-
You compare normal women with CAH women, and see that androgen exposure correlates with interests. Hard to dismiss this proof.
-
Correlation does not evidence causation. about a million other variables can interact to lead to interest.
-
Like what, parental treatment which is roughly equal?Plus opposite effect is found in boys, and similar in trans people w/ hormone treatment
-
CAH qualifies as intersex. For 1, intersex individuals do not get the same socialization as girls, for instance
-
As is actually stated by this paper. There is no conclusive evidence to causal relation between sexual hormones and interest
-
And to be clear socialization isnt just parents:teachers, peers, media, church, any interaction really

One of the most important lines to demonstrate continued conflation of claim of pref diffs with ''any other claim' not madepic.twitter.com/xBht14Nprz
-
But Grant also doesn't deny pref diffs, he denies bio explanation, argues bizarrely for pure nurture (note Damore didn't argue pure nature)pic.twitter.com/1BAg0Hqgwk

The outlier which never really gets much attention is the complex story of Iran. 55-70% of academic participation in Stem is female.
-
STEM is easy to tilt when you include biology, which heavily slants female (less math). Cut that to engineering and math and it changes.
-
That's why I cited Iran. Iran has the highest level female enrollment in university level physics (55%) https://www.aps.org/units/fps/newsletters/2002/july/urry.pdf …
