David Geary's science is far from accepted science. Happy to debate!

Critics of Google memo would be better served proving discrimination than refuting shoddy science with shoddy science
-
Not that hard! Plus my science isn't shoddy!!

Here's the thing- Geary largely focuses on statistical evidence of "interest" in STEM by women.
-
Apart from dubious comparisons to other animals he offers only speculation as to why the interest varies
-
It seems to me that cultural norms/gender expectations are as likely an explanation as his speculation that women just aren't into "things"
-
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12597267?dopt=Abstract … Read some scientific studies before calling things "dubious".
-
That paper isn't publicly available; the abs. looks unrelated anyway. There are sex differences. Just not convinced it's true for STEM.
-
Just google it, it's been posted. https://link.springer.com/article/10.1023%2FA%3A1021833110722?LI=true … How would it possibly NOT be true for STEM?
-
Males prefer mechanical toys, females prefer social toys, in what universe would that NOT translate into males having more STEM preference?
-
A universe in which people are complex

IFS seem to have an agenda, which makes me somewhat skeptical about the points made here.https://familyinequality.wordpress.com/2013/10/01/right-wing-family-watch/ …

Pinker shares alt-right view of gender. Meanwhile he & other evo-psychos claim Gould's liberalism colored his science. They are shameless.

Live in Norway, young son & daughter, can confirm societal equality does not equal lack of gender bias in expectations. V. Strong bias here.

What's wrong with the sexes having, on average , interests and competency, that are complementary. Given Evolution, that's what you'd expect
-
Nothing. Except it's used as an excuse for male engineers to be suspicious and resentful of the females that can outcompete him.
-
We should and can fight against immorality of this sort without undermining science & the truth:
-
I agree. And the truth is that averages don't apply to a company that only hires 1% of applicants.

One of my take-aways: If girls out perform boys educationally in the most equal culture, are girls smarter or is school biased against boys?
-
The way elementary & middle school has become is for sure against how boys are! It needs to change & adapt!!
