This is a bad response because it conflates [criticism of bad reasoning within hoax] with [support for gender studies]. They're separate.

Nothing inconsistent with critiquing the logic deployed in the Skeptic Magazine article and offering no view on gender studies in general.

This also -- I would add -- fails to counter my creationist analogy, which the "hoax" authors have yet to respond to.pic.twitter.com/icMvta5wRf

Sorry for confusion, the analogy is here :-)http://www.salon.com/2017/05/22/why-the-conceptual-penis-hoax-was-a-bust-it-only-reveals-the-lack-of-skepticism-among-skeptics/ …

The most cogent response to this hoax is that the authors have demonstrated a very asinine understanding of gender studies..

..backed up with literally Wikipedia references in their skeptic article. Curious that
@SamHarrisOrg et al haven't acknowledged this. -

New info: Cogent SS was NOT recommended to
@peterboghossian and@GodDoesnt by NORMA; it was T&R. Another major blow to "hoax" argument. - 1 more reply

Pluckrose sidesteps the issue that Cogent Social Studies is a lowly ranked (or unranked) journal. For example: https://shanghai.nyu.edu/sites/default/files/media/Journal%20Ranking_Gender%20Studies.pdf …

@HPluckrose Did you actually look at the journal title or table of contents? It's not even a GS journal; feminist, critical, or whatever. - 1 more reply

But again, this doesn't respond to any of my substantive refutations! Still waiting...

The article answers all those points explicitly...

How so?

Sure. Also my creationist analogy.
