merit is what makes the world work diversity for diversity sake is stupid let the best person in doesn't matter race

but we don't live in a merit-based society. White men have advantages, calls for diversity even the field.

look at numbers represented in biz, science, & politics. Do you believe non-whites and women are less capable?

no not at all but picking a applicant just because they are a woman or non white is racist go by qualifications period

but there are inherent biases in our systems since slavery & segregation set white men up to be the ones picking

and also made it harder for non white people and women to succeed in school.

The march is supposed to be about science. "Non binary" is not a gender and it's based in any science

Gender is a social construct that does not have to be binary. Sex is biological, and there are intersex states.

The scientific community has always been plagued by racism and sexism. It's time for scientists to reject racism and sexism.

But this is a ridiculous argument. There's no single meritorious candidate for every job, nor a single category of merit.

That's why you need to be governed by diversity policies so you don't unwittingly perpetuate an inhumane system of privilege
