I just don't think it's so hard to use whatever names, pronouns & identity terms someone prefers. If it makes them happy, why not?
-
-
-
So we should have to remember every single pronoun created by individuals at will? And if not, r we genderphobic?
-
We got used to 'police officer' and 'firefighter' so why not? No one should lose their job over it but it isn't that hard.
-
It's hard when everyone creates HIS or HER own pronoun and demands everyone remember it or else we hate HIM or HER.
-
Hi, my name's David -Hi, Dave Actually I prefer David -I'm going to call you Dave anyway That's kind of rude -I don't care
-
Replace David with xe. Replace Danny with ne. Replace Richard with le. But another David prefers ne. & so on. Get it?
-
Sure, but honestly, have you met even one person who has asked for this? I'm sure you'd remember the one who does.

Want to know why Trump won? This is a perfect example, people are tired of being told they are evil and stupid.

@sapinker This is misleading.@jordanbpeterson opposes a piece of legislation that makes refusing a "preferred pronoun" a criminal offense.pic.twitter.com/X9GjNAQcG0

Why not make "he" the gender neutral pronoun, just like actor is the gender neutral noun and actress rarely used.
-
Because people will be offended and need a safe space when what they really need is self-confidence.

Expecting endless nuanced gender language is excess, but must alt genders rely on language evolution to get *any* representation?

id prefer a new singular gender neutral version. Less confusing and clunky.

call me old-fashioned, but I'm sticking with chromosome-defined pronouns.
-
So how do you address a case of XXXY?
-
well I'm not a scientist, but according to wikipedia that's a male with two extra chromosomes.
-
That's, at the least, an oversimplification. Their gene expression will be affected. Intersex conditions, while rare, DO exist.
-
were I in that condition, I'd like to think of myself as a very unique male. for me pronouns are sexual classifications. science.
-
I don't think that's the way they tend to think of themselves. Not culture, either--this is from 1981: http://i.huffpost.com/gen/3103540/thumbs/o-CAROLINE-COSSEY-570.jpg …
